Gifts to Presidents

Most of the information here has originally been collected by the Office of the Chief of Protocol, as required by Section 7342(f) of Title 5, United States Code, as added by Section 515(a)(1) of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Year 1978 (Pub. L. 95-105, August 17, 1977, 91 Stat. 865) and published by the Federal Register

The original data from the Federal Registry has not not been changed for content but has been re-formatted by Janessa Vleghert. Some other sources of data have also been added (see the meta-data.txt for a full overview). This specific collection of data was pulled from open source data and is made available here under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

This is the data you should use in Assignment 1.

Star Wars social network

This data is taken from Gabasova (2016) and consists of network data pertaining to the number of interactions and mentions between characters per scene. Because Gabasova’s network data is in json format and we haven’t discussed that in detail, I have processed the json files into separate csv files for nodes and edges. See the metadata of both Gabasova and of my csvs.

This is the data you should use for part I. of the final assignment.

Lord of the Rings social network

This data is taken from GitHub user Raphtory and consists of network data pertaining to the number of sentences two characters co-occur in over the entirety of the Lord of the Rings. Because of a slightly different nature to the data, I have merged it into a Gephi-usable csv for you.

This is the data you should use for part I. of the resit of the final assignment.
